MEET RUTH
Ruth Moxen
I am an HCPC-registered Art Psychotherapist and Counsellor working with children, young people, and adults across Northern Ireland. My approach is warm, relational, and tailored to the unique needs of each individual. I believe that therapy should provide a safe, non-judgemental space where people can explore their experiences, develop self-awareness, and work towards positive change.
Alongside private practice, I have extensive experience working within schools, community settings, and specialist services. My background includes supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, low mood, trauma, self-harm, bereavement, relationship difficulties, emotional regulation challenges, and life transitions. I have also worked within suicide prevention services and currently support children and young people affected by domestic and sexual abuse through the criminal justice process.
As an Art Psychotherapist, I recognise that some experiences can be difficult to put into words. Creative approaches can provide an alternative way of expressing thoughts, feelings, and experiences, helping individuals gain insight and understanding. No artistic ability is required, and sessions can incorporate both talking therapy and creative methods, depending on what feels most helpful for each person.
I am passionate about creating a therapeutic space where people feel heard, valued, and empowered to move forward.
